Cricket optimism… in spite of the weather
No games were possible for any Hythe team last weekend, as the continued April rain put paid to the Saturday and Sunday games for the men’s teams, as well as the inaugural game for the Girls U15s. However, we’ll try again over the bank holiday weekend (it’s always good weather on a bank holiday isn’t it?!) as the 1st XI continue their pre-season warm ups against Willesborough at home, while the Sunday side start their league campaign away to Exiles at Kenfield. The Girls U15s play at home on Monday against St Lawrence & Highland Court to complete the bank holiday fixtures.
The games then come thick and fast, with junior home games on Tuesday and Friday, and the return of the Cavaliers versus The Grovellers on Wednesday.
The Men’ Saturday team have confirmed two new signings, as Troy Harding and Grant Channon have joined the club. Both guys are experienced league players, so good things are anticipated this season, as the Saturday side strengthens it’s squad in preparation for the league campaign.
