Cricket
Cricket has been played at The Grove since the founding of the club in 1856 and is thriving in 2024. We run 5 adult men’s teams, a women’s softball team and 6 junior teams (3 mixed/boys, 3 girls), and welcome players of all ages and abilities.
On Saturdays Hythe compete in the Kent Regional League and our Sunday team plays in the Kent Village League. We have a thriving social cricket team playing on Monday evenings, and an exciting mid week T20 competition ‘The Hythe Smash’. New players of all ages are always welcome, whether you are looking to play competitive league cricket, or get back into cricket with some training sessions and take part in the odd friendly fixture. Contact cricket@hythecsc.com to get involved in men’s cricket, or juniorcricket@hythecsc.com to get involved in women, girls and junior cricket.
All of our fixtures and results are here: https://hythe.play-cricket.com/home
We have excellent facilities, including modern 2 lane cricket nets, and after an ambitious fundraising effort, a newly laid cricket wicket.
Men’s indoor nets training is from 6-7pm at 3 Hills Sports Park from 20th February onwards, and outdoor nets training at the Club runs on Wednesday evenings from 24th April onwards throughout the season.
