On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May, IJsselmeervogels hosted the renowned Wim Bode International Tournament at sports park De Westmaat. This international 35+ veterans tournament, which rotates annually with host clubs, brings together teams from the Netherlands, Belgium, England and Wales for a sporty and social football weekend.

The tournament originated at vv Altius in Hilversum and has since grown into an international event that revolves around sportsmanship, camaraderie and football fun at a later age. While the Grovellers didn't bring home a trophy, by all accounts they did Hythe proud, and Manager Andy Boorman reports that a very enjoyable weekend was had by all.
