First News of A Very Big Event..

Put Saturday 18th July in your diary!

There is a big event coming at the Club... on Saturday 18th July we'll be hosting the very first HCSC Royal Row.

Are you up for a challenge? Can you put together a team to row the length of the Royal Military Canal (27 miles)? 13 rowing boats, 4 people per boat, starting on the outskirts of Rye, with a big family celebration event back at the club.

Each team needs a Captain, plus 3 team members/rowers, and a commitment to raise some serious sponsorship money for the club. All participants must be over 18. There will be some 'training' opportunities if you want a go in a rowing boat in advance, and a mobile Support Crew on the day (to transport the boats to the start line, and help in the event of accident, injury, urgent need for snacks etc....)

At this stage we are asking Team Captains to register for a boat. Have a chat, round up some mates/family/colleagues and contact Karen: TheRoyalRow@hythecsc.com 07512 689 634

If you'd like to take part but don't have a team, contact Karen to register your interest.

Registrations close on Monday 1st June (earlier if all 13 boats are taken.)

Could this be a Sport v Sport... Men v Women.... Youth v Experience... Family v Family... Company v Company... Team v Team... showdown? We hear there are some AW Construction staff keen to take on the challenge... HCSC v The Rest of The World?... What will your team be called?

The event will potentially raise significant funds for the club, and start an annual tradition. There's a chance of a Sport England grant to double our money if we reach a sponsorship target too.

Massive thanks to Tom Locke, Karen Checksfield, Hythe Town Council for loan of the boats, and very generous support from AW Construction Services for making this all possible.

Go on... round up a team... have a go... and make some memories/money/history for the Club!
