England Manager Job for Club Trustee Ken

On 23rd September England beat Wales 3-0 at St George’s Park,  in the inaugural NHS Challenge Trophy.  Our very own Ken Pollock (Club Trustee, Groveller and Cavalier) managed England, played at centre-half , and fielded the national media storm that surrounded this first ever international game of football between players over 70.

Articles in The Sun, the Daily Mirror, the Eastbourne Herald as well as interviews on TalkSport, BBC Five Live and BBC Breakfast featured the inspirational story of one England player, aged 79, who was cheered on by his very proud dad, age 104!   The game has already inspired a huge increase in interest from older players wanting to return to football.

Search for ‘NHS Challenge Trophy’ on YouTube to watch the game and see Ken in action.

Many congratulations to Ken on an outstanding achievement. (Look out Gareth, there’s a new and very successful England Manager on the scene…)
